Gold Star

The origin of the Gold Star is the name given when Wal Handley managed to get the Brookland Gold Star award by riding a 500cc BSA M23 Empire Star. Top speed is 100 mph is reached. BSA Gold Star itself consists of several versions of them:
  • 1938 BSA Gold Star M24
  • 1948 BSA Gold Star ZB32
  • 1949 BSA Gold Star ZB34
  • 1953 BSA Gold Star BB32 dan BB34
  • 1954 BSA Gold Star CB32 dan CB34
  • 1956 BSA Gold Star DBD34
By using a 499cc engine, air cooled, two valves, single cylinder, motorcycle BSA is able to issue a power of 42 BHP at 7000RPM. Using a 4-speed transmission with chain drive. BSA Gold Star uses twin-downtube steel frame. Carburatornya not pake filter (free flow). Already using the telescopic front suspension fork, while the rear suspension uses twin shocks. Front and rear braking system is still using the drum. With a weight of 174 kg, the motor is still able lauched up to 177 km / h.
Arena Isle of Man Clubman TT, BSA Gold Star Clubman was (DBD 34 code) dominating than other brands. BSA is a master piece, not separated from the role of the BSA chief designer Bert Hopwood. Unfortunately the production of BSA Gold Star was discontinued in 1963.
